Spring 2011

Kathy Emerson is awarded Honorable Mention by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for her grant proposal entitled, “How Organizational Lay Theories of Intelligence Affect Underrepresented Groups.” The NSF bestows this honor upon applicants who have submitted outstanding proposals and recognizes them for making a “significant academic achievement” on a national scale.

  • Kathy Emerson is awarded the Christopher B. Keys Award for Early Outstanding Research Achievement. This award is made annually to a 1st through 3rd year graduate student whose work best exemplifies a tradition of innovative, adventuresome research.

  • Undergraduate researcher, Laurel Wright is elected to Phi Beta Kappa! Congrats, Laurel!

  • Kathy Emerson earns her Masters from the University of Illinois at Chicago! Way to go, Kathy!!!

  • MICL lab manager, Nicole Senft decides to pursue her doctoral studies in Psychology at Georgetown University with Dr. Yulia Chentsova-Dutton!! We are so proud of you, Nicole!

  • Undergraduate researcher, Laurel Wright wins a Liberal Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative (LASURI) award for her honors project!

  • Evelyn Carter wins a prestigious Abraham Lincoln Fellowship from the University of Illinois at Chicago!
